Managing Director

Simon Taylor

Simon is Managing Director of Succession Advisory Services and has significant experience in both propositional development and distribution.

Having joined Succession as a founder member in 2009 he has been responsible for its investment and platform strategy. Managing all investment and platform relationships, Simon has been responsible for developing and managing Succession's Centralised Investment Proposition, whilst overseeing all key strategic investment relationships. He developed and launched, in 2016, the SAS MPS proposition which now exceeds £1.5bn of assets and is the core of Successions Investment Proposition.

Simon has also been instrumental in the successful acquisition and integration of over 64 wealth management businesses into the wider group.

Having worked within the financial services sector for over 25 years Simon has held senior positions across National distribution companies. He is an experienced C-Level leader and Board Member who has delivered complex and ambitious growth programmes. Focusing on Business growth, core change programmes, strategy, and proposition.


Head of Distribution, Platform & Investments

Annette Kinsman

Annette joined Succession less than one year after it was founded and assisted many of the original advisory firm members with their transition to fee-based advice and the adoption of platform technology via the Succession Investment Platform and a Centralised Investment Solution being the Succession Investment Matrix. Annette became Head of Platform Services in 2015 and is responsible to the SAS board for the core platform relationship between Succession and its technology provider, IFDL, overseeing the Model B platform arrangement.

With the development of the preferred and supported platform panel, the team now look after all key platform relationships and manage training, issues and escalations.

At the start of 2024 the investment distribution team moved over to Annette and the team can help with all queries regarding how the Matrix was designed and each of the underlying fund managers/ranges. They also provide a range of MPS courses and webinars together with working closely with Succession’s Area Managers to ensure that planners and PPU are kept up to date with the latest SAS MPS developments.

Prior to joining Succession, Annette held a wide range of roles across financial services including being a financial planner, a compliance officer and managing her own business consultancy for 12 years. In the late 90s/early noughties Annette was a member elected director of the Society of Financial Advisers (now the PFS) and was part of the team that gained Chartered status for planners as part of the launch of the Personal Finance Society.


Head of Investment, Governance & Oversight

Aaron Taylor

Following the completion his master’s degree in Wealth Management, Aaron joined Succession in 2019 and has since played a central role in the governance and development of the Succession Matrix. He leads the management of the SAS MPS range, ensuring the continuous enhancement and successful launch of various solutions.

Aaron’s expertise lies in driving strategic governance, supporting the Succession Matrix Governance Committee (SAS MGC), and contributing to the SWM IC. His focus on bridging propositional gaps and optimising operational frameworks reflects his commitment to delivering innovative and effective strategies.


Senior Investment Analyst

Gareth Watts

Gareth graduated from the University of Plymouth In 2017 where he obtained a BSc 1st Class (Hons) in Economics. His interests are in economics and finance, he regularly keeps up with current and financial affairs, holding a subscription to both The Economist and Financial Times.

Gareth joined Succession from an affiliated Will and Trusts company in April 2018 on the fast track program to follow his interests.

He moved over to SAS in December 2018 to join the investment team as he has a strong passion for the investment side of the business. Gareth holds an IMC qualification.


Business Support Analyst

Rebecca Lee

Rebecca joined Succession in 2011 and has supported the growth of the Investment Proposition.

She produces Management Information relating to SIP, SAS MPS and Matrix assets, which is used by the team, as part of their oversight of the Matrix, and the wider business.

Rebecca also works on the delivery of SAS Projects related to the business objectives, working closely with both the SAS Investment team and the Distribution team.


Business Development Manager (MPS)

Jason Ducker

Jason was appointed MPS Business Development Manager for Succession Advisory Services in November 2022. Jason joined Succession Wealth in April 2021 as Investment Operations Manager. Jason has previously worked as Investment Specialist at Schroders Personal Wealth and as an Investment Manager at Lloyds Private Banking. Based in Bristol, a key objective for Jason is to provide planners with the help and support they need to work with our MPS Matrix providers. Jason has 24 years’ experience of working in Wealth Management with over 16 of these as Investment Manager providing discretionary fund management focusing on the investment needs of high net-worth clients. Jason holds Certificate in Financial Advice and has also previously passed the Investment Management Certificate.


Investment Analyst

Matthew Frampton

Matthew graduated from the University of Hull in 2006 with a Law Degree. Since then, has worked in the investment industry as both a Stockbroker and Investment Manager and has been a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment since 2016.

He joined Succession Advisory Service in November 2021 as an Investment Analyst.

Adam Smith-Hospedales

Adam began his career in 2014 with AFH Wealth Management before joining in Succession Advisory Services in 2024. With over a decade of industry experience and numerous years as an Investment Committee member, he possesses extensive expertise in portfolio construction, portfolio management, investment analysis, fund manager selection, technical oversight, governance and discretionary fund management solutions. As an Investment Analyst at Succession Advisory Services, Adam leverages his experience to deliver technical governance, deep-dive analysis, and pioneering innovative solutions to achieve optimal outcomes for our clients.


Platform Support Manager

Kerry Randall

Kerry joined the SAS team as a Platform Support Manager having previously been a CSM for four of the Central offices where she line managed a team of 10. Kerry has a wealth of platform and admin experience and is on hand to help planners, CDLs and PPU members to get the most out of the Preferred and Supported platforms. As part of Kerry’s role she assists with case management for complex/high net worth cases and issue resolution. Kerry also ensures the teams are kept up to date with all of the latest developments from the platforms via ongoing refresher training sessions. Kerry and her colleague Susan Thomason work closely with the platforms and attend regular meetings with all of the preferred and supported platforms. Prior to joining Succession in April 2015, Kerry worked as a Client Relationship Manager for an Independent Financial Adviser in Halifax, where she had worked for 12 years.


Platform Support Manager

Susan Thomason

Before joining Succession Susan worked for 13 years in London undertaking administration and paraplanning roles at a number of Wealth Planning companies.

Susan joined Succession in 2017 as a member of the Investment Operations Team. Susan progressed into a new role as Investment Operations Quality Assurance Analyst working within Succession’s Risk and Compliance team in 2020.

Having a wealth of Platform experience Susan jumped at the opportunity to join the SAS team in February 2022 as a Platform Support Manager. Susan supports all stakeholders across the Succession Group in all things ‘platform related’ including Platform Training and Platform Issue Resolution. Key aspects of the role are supporting our Planners and Client Delivery Teams to enable them to get the most out of the Platforms.

Outside of work Susan can be found painting or sewing in her mini art studio, tap dancing at the local community hub, or walking in the Yorkshire Countryside. When she gets the chance to travel, Susan loves to visit places with lots of snow.
